Deadlines for health insurance, taxes, school aid and work, each one taken from the official page linked next to it. Miss one and it can cost you money or a year of waiting.

  1. Oct 1, 2026 – Jun 30, 2028

    The 2027–28 FAFSA is open

    Fill it out early. The federal deadline is June 30, 2028, but states and schools set their own, often much earlier, and some aid runs out. (Federal Student Aid)

  2. Nov 1, 2026 – Jan 15, 2027

    Marketplace health insurance Open Enrollment starts

    November 1 is the first day to enroll in, renew or change a Marketplace plan for 2027. (HealthCare.gov)

  3. Dec 15, 2026

    Last day to pick a Marketplace plan for January 1

    Enroll or change plans by December 15 and pay your first premium for coverage starting January 1. (HealthCare.gov)

  4. Jan 15, 2027

    Open Enrollment ends, and the last 2026 estimated tax payment is due

    Last day to enroll in or change a Marketplace plan for 2027 (coverage starts February 1). If you're paid on a 1099, your last estimated payment for 2026 is due too. (Internal Revenue Service; HealthCare.gov)

    If you got $20 or more in tips last month at one job, give your employer your tip report by the 10th. (Internal Revenue Service)

Every year

  1. Mid-April

    Federal tax returns are due

    The IRS posts each year's date; for 2025 returns it was April 15, 2026. File free if you qualify. (Internal Revenue Service)

  2. Two weeks before you move

    Change your address with USPS

    Forwarding can start within 3 business days, but allow up to 2 weeks. (U.S. Postal Service)

These health insurance dates are HealthCare.gov's. If your state runs its own Marketplace, follow the dates on that site (HealthCare.gov: find your state). "Add to calendar" downloads a file your phone or computer calendar can open, with a reminder the day before. Nothing is tracked.

Your state may add its own deadlines, like state tax returns or state aid. Check your state's site too.
